Bright and Merry Holiday Market Presented by Enbridge Gas is Coming to Oshawa in Mid-November!

On November 15 and November 16, come and join the City of Oshawa, the Downtown Oshawa BIA, the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Simcoe Street United Church, Oshawa’s Public Library and the Senior Communities Centre in celebrating the winter season with their third annual holiday event! This event begins on the Friday from 5 pm until 9 pm and will extend into the Saturday from 12 pm until 9 pm. This expansion allows for residents and guests to visit and enjoy everything is the market has to offer!

The Bright and Merry Holiday Market has been a partnership with downtown community organizations for the past three years to promote the holiday season and our downtown. On the Friday night, all community partners will be open for guests to walk through and enjoy. Each one will be showcasing their organization and offering different activities, including vendors, food, caroling, and more! The Friday night will also include the holiday tree lighting at 7:00 pm located on the corner of Centre and Bagot Street. Due to popular demand of the past events, the Bright and Merry Market has extended into the Saturday from 12 pm until 9 pm.

This event has come with a new vision to reflect the revitalization and changing area of downtown Oshawa. This year, retail vendors will be placed in large LED inflatable igloos, one of those igloos will be a lounge where attendees over the age of 19 can grab a drink and enjoy the music of DJ Lynz! A variety of entertainment options will be available: carnival rides, buskers, glow swings, and an area to roast marshmallows! On the Saturday, the Santa Claus Parade will begin at 6 pm and be passing through the downtown by the event! Invite your friends and bring the whole family, as there will be something for everyone to do!

This event would not be possible without support from our BIA sponsors: Enbridge Gas, Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority, Superior Events, CIBC, Moving Media, Premier Events, and Hardco! Thank you to all of the City of Oshawa’s sponsors! We appreciate these community-minded organizations coming together and supporting the local community.
