Downtown Oshawa BIA's New Website is Live!

Oshawa, Ontario - On Wednesday, May 13th, 2020, the Downtown Oshawa Business Improvement Association launched their new website. The website was designed for the local community, tourists, and BIA members as an online hub for Downtown Oshawa.

The main purpose of this website is to emphasize tourism in the downtown core. The website highlights services and the many places to eat, shop, play, and stay. Filled with a diverse art, culture, and entertainment scene, Downtown Oshawa is a hidden, yet extraordinary cultural hub. The new website will showcase how Downtown Oshawa has something to offer to a multitude of audiences and is a natural extension of the new brand, released last fall.

Some of the highlighted features of the new website are:

  • Searchable business directory
  • Featured events
  • Calendar of events, complete with a submission form
  • Members resource page - "For Members"
  • "Things to Do" blog page
  • COVID-19 information page

"This website is a one-stop shop for all things downtown and was designed to be a central collaborative commercial space aimed at helping consumers easily connect with businesses to fill their needs. Partners can submit events to the calendar, blog post ideas and edits for their directory page." - IvanoLabricciosa, Board Chair, Downtown Oshawa BIA

"Building this website has been a long process and will continue to be a work in progress. New content will often be added to the pages, from blog posts to important member information, and over time some features may change that enhance the user experience." - Matt Bowles, Marketing Committee Downtown Oshawa BIA

"Phase 2 of the website is already in the works. This will see the addition of features such as an 'invest in downtown' page, donate buttons for the non-profits, and a real estate page where property owners can submit their listings and so much more." - Amanda MacDonald, Executive Director, Downtown Oshawa BIA

This announcement was delayed to allow the web developers time to adjust code in the events calendar submission form.

Downtown Oshawa BIA invites all audiences to explore the new website and encourages everyone to explore the area itself. The new website can be found at
