Downtown Oshawa BIA Board Received Results from City Audit
Oshawa, Ontario - The Downtown Oshawa BIA Board of Directors are pleased to receive the findings of the City of Oshawa audit of our financial and business practices. The feedback and input to improve the business operation of the Downtown Oshawa Business Improvement Area were welcomed. With the implementation of the revised 2020 budget, the BIA has been working hard to continue to deliver valued services to BIA members while increasing the level of transparency and communication with all stakeholders. The team has already begun improving internal processes and has increased the value of communications by addressing important member topics via the following outlets: town hall series, emails, surveys, and members' web page.
The Board of Directors remains committed to the BIA membership and would like to thank the City for their continued support and input as they seek to improve the quality of operations and ultimately the community in Downtown Oshawa. The focus now is on carefully reviewing the recommendations and developing action plans and steps to implement the improvements as quickly as possible without disrupting the support and services being delivered to the downtown community.
“The Board of Directors remains committed to the Downtown Oshawa Community and working together with the City of Oshawa staff and Council Members will continue to deliver quality programs and services to enhance the Downtown Oshawa Community. We are committed to the residents and businesses we serve and to helping them succeed and enjoy a thriving downtown,” says Ivano Labricciosa, Chair of the Downtown Oshawa BIA.
