The AIDS Committee of Durham Region is a community-based, non-profit, charitable organization. We work in partnership with many individuals and organizations that support, in principle or in practice, our mission and goals.
Our mission is to help relieve the burdens of poverty and social dislocation within the economically deprived and street population of Oshawa.

Durham Region Non-Profit Housing Corporation (DRNPHC) is a social housing provider that owns and manages more than 1100 apartment and townhouse rental units at 19 sites across the Durham Region in the Province of Ontario. The John Howard Society of Durham Region (JHS) is a non-profit, social service agency in Ontario Canada. We are dedicated to serving men and women, individuals and families, youth, and adults with programs in areas such as counselling, employment, literacy, housing, parenting, addictions, and more. Most of our services are free.
22% of the population of Durham Region does not have the literacy skills they need, however, this volunteer organization is dedicated to increasing literacy in the area. Literacy Durham is committed to improving adults' literacy skills for further employment, education, and their personal lives.
