A Message from our Executive Director

Christmas is coming. The Christmas Tree Lighting at the City Hall, together with the Christmas Market (many thanks to Janette of Dream Blooms) were both a huge success and although it rained on Santa Claus Parade day, there were lots of hardy kids of all ages out to cheer on Santa and enjoy the hot chocolate and goodies. We’re still trying to organize some sort of free parking program in time for Christmas shopping and we will keep members informed. In the meantime, there will be carollers out on several days, some tailgate parties to enjoy and more official openings. Charmed, on Simcoe St. South had their official opening and open house on November 18th and, in spite of the weather, a great time was enjoyed by all. Van Houtte Coffee will have their official opening on December 12th and we look forward to that as well.

We are already in the process of ramping up for a week of Hot Root Soup and Chili in February as well as planning a number of other celebrations to try to warm up the winter a bit.

For those who don’t know, Angela took a bit of a tumble at home and ended up with a broken ankle so she may not be around much for a while. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery. In spite of her absence we will continue with current plans for the Members’ General Meeting on December 7th at 8:30 AM. Also, please take time to have a look at our updated website and give us your feedback. Once the website has been completely updated, we will look at some other administrative improvements.

Enjoy the holidays.

Reminder that the next meeting will take place Thursday 7th December 2017 at Core 21 - 21 Simcoe Street South at 8:30 AM
